Career in BPO

Written By Unknown on 21 May 2013 | 02:56

BPO : An industry which is growing every year, providing jobs to millions. What can one do to make a career in BPO industry?
To make a career in this industry you should posses a strong mindset, good communication skills and an ability to perform under pressure. If you don't have these qualities in you then a BPO is ‘Not the place for you’.
A BPO is not a training ground to improve your communication. Nobody runs a coaching class there. The industry offers jobs for freshers and provides opportunities to them.

Over years talking to successful employees who have made their career in this Industry, I would want to share their success Mantra:
Never work for Salary in a BPO, Salary is a default which hits your bank. One should focus on how he can make incentives and make a plan around it. I have seen many employees taking home an incentive plan of more than 80,000/- a month apart from their salary.

Let’s look at the job opportunities in a BPO and the departments in which jobs are available:
Human Resource
Finance
Payroll
Admin
Facility Management
IT Support
Network Engineer
Training
Quality
Operations
Front Desk
Entry level ( Customer service executive )
House Keeping
Security

Initially one has to join at the entry level and then according to Internal Job Postings apply for senior positions. You can apply for Quality, Training and Operations Positions based on your performance. You will get all the information regarding BPO jobs on various Job Portals.
